Product Description of Steel H Beam:
Steel H-beams are structural steel with an "H"-shaped cross-section. They belong to the same category of hot-rolled steel as channel steel, but their flanges are parallel and wider, resulting in superior mechanical properties. They are widely used in building beams, columns, bridges, and heavy frame structures.
Compared to traditional I-beams, H-beams have parallel inner and outer flange surfaces without slope, making welding and splicing easier . They possess superior mechanical properties per unit weight, offering a larger section modulus and saving 10-40% in metal weight.
Types of Steel H-Beam:
HW (Wide Flange): The height and flange width are essentially equal (ratio close to 1:1). Mainly used as columns in steel structures .
HM (Medium Flange): Height to flange width ratio is approximately 1.33 to 1.75. Mainly used as frame beams or columns under dynamic loads .
HN (Narrow Flange): Height to flange width ratio is greater than or equal to 2. Mainly used as beams .
Other classifications:
By manufacturing method: Hot-rolled H-beams, welded H-beams.
By dimensional accuracy: Grade A (high accuracy), Grade B (normal accuracy).
By flange thickness: Thin-walled, medium-thick-walled, thick-walled.
